I started with y’all with a pair of Bondi 8, loved them until I felt the difference in the Skyward X. After a mishap with something in the first pair, they sent a second pair. So far, so good, and oh my gosh what relief for my feet! My legs needed some time to adjust to the bounciness, but I really appreciate that you created a shoe that works for me. As a disable individual with walking issues, I can work with these. …the Bondi 8 were great, too, in the beginning, and I was happy to have them, but they “went flat,” and once I tried on the Skyward X I immediately noticed a huge difference! I also had to get used to being taller! HA!!!
One thing: these may be difficult for some runners. In the beginning they’re almost like being on a mini-trampoline or something. Give it time, go slow, equilibrium and muscle memory need to balance out with the added height, especially if you switch between work/other gym shoes. On a good note: I have read that many runners love them and have increased their speed with less energy loss!
I couldn’t really afford them, but pooled Christmas money to try them. I will look for them to be on sale before buying another pair; I think it’s a good thing to switch between a couple pair of shoes. If there’s any program for disabled, please let me know, or even in development, I would be interested in testing out shoes with more cushioning.

I use this shoe at work. I’ve owned several pairs of your shoes and this is one of the best

I am 71 years old and a runner who started late in life. I have been wearing Bondi’s for years but nothing as great as the Skyward X. These are by far the most comfortable running shoes yet. What can I say. I’ll leave you with…I honestly feel like I can fly!!! Love these!!

I’m 6’5″ around 245 and I’ve been running in Clifton 9’s most recently up to 10 miles at a go. These shoes are amazingly comfortable over the Clifton’s for me and I won’t be switching to something else probably ever. These shoes also somehow decreased my average mile pace by a minute so that’s great too.

So far, so good. 200lb runner, 30 miles a week, sub 22 5k. I have a pair of Nike carbon fiber race shoes, and I liked the idea of a carbon fiber shoe for longer/harder training runs, not just racing. The skyward is a great combo of cushioning and responsiveness, and so far, it’s exactly what I’d hoped for. It leaves my feet feeling a little less battered after harder runs, and I think it will turn out to be a good injury-prevention shoe. It could be a little more stable, but all in all, I think Hoka nailed it. It’s a bigger toebox than the Bondi (I take a 13w in Bondi), and the overall fit is just a little larger and more comfortable, more like the old Hokas. It seems light enough to race in, but I haven’t tried that yet. Planning on getting another pair.

This shoe is great for walking, running, and anything else you can imagine.

As a longtime fan of the Bondi line, I was excited to try these. With even more support, I expected even more comfort. Unfortunately for me, the added cushion resulted in less stability in my ankles. I could myself actively trying to maintain a proper step. I also found the size of the shoe to cause a greater chance of getting caught on uneven pavement, etc. Planning to send mine back.

I am a Clydesdale runner and have run in Bondi’s for many years. I was a bit skeptical at first about the Skyward X because of the weight and I had tried the Bondi X a few years back and really didn’t like that shoe at all. The online reviews have all been very positive, so I bought a pair. Currently have 100km on them and really enjoy the shoe. Most of my runs are zone 2 and these are perfect for those runs. I am able to pick up the (relative) pace without feeling the weight. Feel that I need a different shoe for speedwork. Highly recommend the Skyward X – Hoka did a really nice job with this one!

I bough the Skyward X and a week later I bought the Stinson 7. They are both very great shoes. The biggest difference between the two is the Stinson is stiffer and a little less plush as far as your feet feeling more ground pounding with the Stinson 7’s. Also the Skyward X literally makes your body’s height one to two inches taller from the foam they add in there over and above the ride of most. Otherwise both are built to last. On the Stinson 7 you can see light penetrating through the top fabric making it good for hot weather.

As others have said, you will be shocked at the energy return from this shoe if you haven’t had one like it. I’m *NOT* a runner, but someone who has been on a health & wellness journey for the last 22 months and over that time have discovered Hokas for fitness walking. Between Bondi & Gaviotta 5 (both great shoes), the Skyward X has by far been the most comfortable and …out and out fun to wear. The energy return is a kick and I enjoy walking in these like no other. Highly recommend for those looking for a comfortable walking shoe. Pricey yes, but worth it IMHO

I am a 65 year old former competitive runner who shifted away from running to biking and walking because the constant pounding from running made recovery long and I was always sore. I thought “super shoes” were only for elite athletes but the Skyward X gives me so much support that I am back to running longer distance 3 or 4 times per week with little soreness. Entered my first half marathon in May which is the first race of more than 5K in years. Would not even think about doing this without the Skyward X.

Reminds me of the first time I put on the original Mafate’s only better!

This shoe is the MOST amazing shoe that has ever touched these feet. I am a nurse and love my Arahi’s. But this SkywardX shoe is next level stuff. I literally float around my hallls at work like these shoes have wings on them. My Patients love them also and get plenty of compliments. I can tell you how the bounce they give me motivates me to stay in motion. I do 16 hour shifts and these shoes rock it and carry me through like am winning a race. Thank you Hoka and thank you SkywardX for the cloud you put my feet in. Highly recommend.

Have been using them for the road and trail. Love the shoes. A little to high of a profile for the trails but still really like them. 55 years old. Run 40 miles a week. Love a lot of cushion. Have been going back and forth from on cloud to Hoka. Will be buying these again.

I have been using the Skyward X as my daily runner. Comfortable and durable. The carbon plate definitely propels you, making my runs fun and easier on the legs. I’m on my second pair. My first lasted over 400 miles.

Your shoes have failed recently with Your choice of glues on the running pad. I want to give a 5 star review but shoes have only made it a few miles! That being said I only buy HOKA. NOT THE SAME QUALITY From just a couple years ago?????

The Skyward X are the ninth shoe I own in my Hoka collection. They are a great addition to my running and waking shoes. Skyward X for me are very stable, they have a great bounce factor toward my forward stride. They transition from a running shoe to a great walking shoe. I bought the Skyward X to be a workout shoe for short runs and long walks. As a gym shoe I get compliments all the time. They ask how comfortable are Hoka’s in the first place, plus don’t I feel the shoes are too expensive. My answer is the same with all the Hoka’s I wear ” how much would you spend for comfort? “.

These shoes are great! They provide a great deal of stability and bounce for a good well rounded shoe, especially for your longer distance runs.
Vince –
Very comfortable, the extra cushioning makes the shoes very comfortable and great for running or every day wear. Absolutely perfect shoe.

I don’t do a huge amount of reviews period BUT these shoes are worth it!!! I don’t even know where to begin.. I would say start with trying these shoes out for yourself.. I find these shoes VERY COMFORTABLE for long runs, daily runs, recovery runs and tendonitis recovery runs, which is what I have.. I am not an expert runner but I have been running for more than 10 years and I have NEVER felt anything like these shoes on my feet.. They are extremely cushioned with a very nice forefoot arch for forefoot runners. If you are a walker, you can easily glide to 10k steps a day with these on with just about 0 discomfort. I would highly recommend these shoes for daily trainers and walkers… Job well done team Hoka!!!

I’m 6’7″ and 230 lbs, and this is hands down the comfiest shoe I’ve ever worn. The cushioning is unreal it handled both my training runs and marathon without beating up my legs. Despite being super soft, it still feels stable and responsive. If you’re a bigger runner looking for max comfort, this shoe is a game changer. It’s one thick shoe! Not a paid review incase anyone is wondering!

The most comfortable sneakers I’ve EVER worn! Period.
