Sherri –
get them.
Kate –
Well the reviews are true, this would be a perfect shoe if it did not tear up your heel! after two miles a painful bleeding heel and in another half mile the other one. I do not have heel problems EVER this is not a thing I have ever experienced – but when you see the flimsy heel material you will see why. Doesn’t matter how light and cushy if I am bleeding Hoka!

I did not try them on. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that far. The shoe upper is transparent. I held it up to the sky and could see through them. The heel is VERY thin. The sole of the shoe is excellent, but the upper was not up to par with other Hoka shoes. I am an avid HOKA wearer. This was disappointing. They were immediately returned.

I have narrow feet and I often find women’s larger sizes fit my feet well. On the flip side, my wife has wide feet and gets the men’s smaller sizes. Last weekend, we bought ourself the Mach x2. I had the Mach x and found them a little too firm for the longer runs. These were very nice. My legs felt fresh after mid distance 11 mile run. The heel is a little flimsy and I felt my heel slip, so I tied them too tight. Unfortunately they rubbed the side of my lower ankle and blisters formed. I tried them for a short 10k tempo run today and found them delightful. I didn’t tie the shoes too tight and my blisters were barely noticeable (of course I had blister tape and compression socks). If they had a little more heel support, it would be a solid 5 start from me. My wife had no issues, she wished they were a little more room in the toe box.

Love these shoes. Super squishy, lots of support. Feels like they won’t break down quickly. Only issue is that I always get an 8.5 in Hokas, and I wish I’d gotten these in 9. They do fit, but just feel like I’m wearing shoes (which I don’t usually in Hokas)
Nancy –
But I haven’t try it yet. I love the color.

The fit and size was perfect for me. I have always ordered a size 8 in Hoka. The shoes feel great under my feet. I do wish Hoka would have put some padding under the tongue and more in the back of the heel. Those are the only reason to not give a five star review. The back of the heel is so flimsy, they are hard to put on without a shoe horn. They are extremely light and bouncy and for me that is good. I will be keeping these but only time will tell on buying a second pair.

The Mach X2 is truly amazing- my first fast run I went 7:30 pace instead of my usual speed run pace of 8. They are super propulsive- feel like I’m being pushed by the shoe! I’m a senior runner and am always looking for a way to recapture the speed of a few years back.
I bought these for speed workouts and longer races . They are not unstable- I need pronation support and the heel is no issue for me -comfortable and no rubbing. I would feel either of these issues- they are not there! I Strongly recommend these as a speed shoe!!!

I’m in my feet all day long at work. They’re just amazing.

Loving these! Awesome aesthetic design and cushy. Really enjoy walking on air.
Many Thanks

I admit I had some concerns before purchasing due to mixed reviews on the heels. I’m here to say they are wrong! I have done multiple runs now in them and they are amazing. They are light as a feather. They are fast. You can feel yourself spring forward during a run. You are running on clouds! They are my new race shoe. I will be wearing them as I toe the start line of the Chicago Marathon next week. Let’s go!

After trying a different HOKA shoe that didn’t work for me, I went to the local running store and tried on several different shoes and these were the stand-out pair. I ran 4 miles in them this morning and they felt phenomenal. These are comfortable, supportive, responsive, and light. They also have a great aesthetic with the bright colors. I plan to wear these for my longer runs while training for my first marathon and during the race. Hoka, you did it with these shoes!
Vicki –
Great fit and responsive. The heel rubbed a little bit but that stopped when I wore Bomba running socks.

I loved the first version of the Mach X. I’ve also tried every recent super shoe available, but many of them cause me to overpronate (including the Cielo X1). The Mach X2 is absolute perfection for my stride- great pop in midsole without throwing me to the inside of my stride/knee. For me, it rolls similarly to the Saucony EP4 but with more pep. I also like the Skyward X, but that shoe often feels clonky. I have the ninniest most blister prone feet in the world (and I am the loudest complainer about an uncomfortable upper), but I was SHOCKED to have no problems whatsoever with the heel of the Mach X2. The Mach X2 is working for tempo runs and long runs, and it will be my racing shoe. So many new super shoes to choose from- find one that works and stick with it. The Mach X2 can do it all, and I love it.

These shoes are great. Ever since I had a TKR 3 years ago I felt like my leg was dragging. Since wearing these shoes I am not having that issue.
Running G –
I generally run about 3-5 miles per day and having been a lifelong runner, have also tried just about every brand & model running shoe out there. Since discovering the HOKA Mach series, I have not veered away since. The MACH X2 differs a little from the regular MACH in that it has a firmer feel and kind of propels me forward. It is a little difficult to get on, but once they are on and I am running, they feel like a dream. I noticed some reviewers talked about getting blisters, but that has not been the case with me and I’ve already put quite a few miles on these. This is my shoe!
Nat –
I did not expect to feel like I’m walking on mini trampolines. They are comfy!
Genwalk –
I like the shoes. A lot of cushion. Feels like you’re walking on a cloud. I don’t like that it feel like it’s turning but that could be the way I walk. I’ll recommend them.
T-645 –
My new Hoka Mach X 2s are the best running shoes I’ve ever owned. Perfect, comfortable Hoka fit and incredible propulsion.
Saluki R –
I ran a 15k in my new Mach X2 and they were awesome. The shoe is light, but cushioned. I feel like my legs didn’t get tired during the race and that helped me rock the last 5k of the race, with a huge negative split. Love these shoes!
CCG –
I bought these because it looked like they had great cushion and I was right. I wasn’t a fan of the Bondi’s. They made my feet look like clown feet. I’m not a runner at all … these are good for my knee problems somehow. My only complaint is they fit a little tight around the top of my foot and it rubs where the seam is where the laces are sewn in… need footies with them.

I’m thinking getting this one a need to travel and l need something veré comfortable and l use size 7/5 l need to go up size or down size
Ava –
It’s like running on clouds. Good for the joints. Excellent support and maximum comfort.
Amie –
My favorite running shoe I’ve ever had. It’s incredibly responsive so I was surprised to see it’s an everyday running shoe. I would use for race day as well. There is a plate in the shoe that mimics carbon but it lasts longer so I have been running 12+ miles per week for months now and have only seen a slight decrease in bounce from the first time I wore them. I’m running longer and at a quicker pace than I have ever run. I’m just really happy about this purchase and will definitely get another pair once these are toast. I haven’t seen an issue with the width. I have an average foot, wear average/thicker athletic socks and also wear inserts for arch support, so with all that it doesn’t feel cramped.

These shoes are the perfect shape, have perfect soles, and have the perfect look. What’s not so perfect is the heel. The back of the shoes used to be white; they are now red with my blood. I usually run around 3 miles of road running on run days and train on the track on the other days. I have narrow feet and struggle with random foot pain. This shoe solved both of those issues. The problem lies right where you can see it. They tried doing this crazy design with a little piece of fabric rising above the heel of the shoe- but don’t be fooled. The shoe ends where the teal stitching ends- and it rubs up against your heel! With thick socks and bandaids, it’s fine, but without it the pain is #unbearable. I will continue to wear these shoes, and I hope they innovate them because the concept and the carbon plate were well done. These puppies just weren’t tested as well as they should have been. I also like the thin backing on the shoe because my old Hokas’ plastic popped out after a year of wear and gave me blisters through that. Dear Hoka, work on blister prevention, lol.
