I am out on the hill each and every day – I have owned at least 20 pairs of Hoka Boots – all really have lived up to expectations with fantaatick attention to detail and quality….EXCEPT this suposed Vibram Mega-grip is NOT genuine – I do not know where your Cambodian factory got their Vibram outer soles from – but they are not genuine but counter-fit rubbish. I worked on the development of original of the Mega-Grip -sole. These not only do not perform – they are some of the most slippery, greezy, sloppy lug soles of any brqand I have ever used. They make an incredible boot worthless – aside perhaps walking on beach sand.

I had to return these boots. I normally wear a size 13 (regular width) and found them to be too tight. I still recommend these based on the design and performance features, however I hope Hoka Quality Team can address the sizing issues in their next iterations.
Unfortunately I am starting to notice a sizing trend… currently having the same issues with their M CHALLENGER ATR 6.
Go up a size if you plan on getting these boots.

I put these to the test in the Canadian Rockies I typically wear Oboz (as does most of my family they are great shoes) however after long days my feet would hurt I have suffered with plantar fasciitis so I thought I would try these. I think I would give them more like 4 1/2 stars the only thing I might want is a little bit more stability but these covered very difficult to rain carrying a midway day pack steep and rocky and they performed very well. In fact they performed better than I thought in extremely rocky conditions as the soul is soft enough it would grab onto the rocks. I used my own inserts as I almost always use my own inserts in boots and shoes I prefer prothallus. Another benefit this boot has is a very large towbox and we did some very steep descending trails This was a huge benefit.

The most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn. The boots have nice cushion with a good feel for the ground, plus excellent grip on any surface, including rocks. The only area for improvement may be adding velcro enclosures at the top to prevent dirt/dust/gravel from entering the inside of the shoe. Nevertheless, an excellent purchase that enhanced by Montana hiking trip.

I originally bought these boots to wear at a horse barn because I needed comfortable, waterproof boots with good traction. They are great for that,, but I wanted to wait to leave a review until I had hiked in them. The shoes worked very well. I’m a woman, wear an 8.5, and have wide feet. I got the men’s 7.5 regular width (D). I would definitely buy these again.

the new 2’s don’t come in black. Are all black Kahas on the horizon? Please let me know.
I’ve had 2 pairs of the 1s and they are, by far, the best footwear I have ever worked in. I’m on my feet for 9 hours/day and have no pain with these. Black footwear is a must at work and I’ll gladly buy more as soon as they’re available.
Please let me know! I’ll need a new pair soon and I’d rather not buy another brand.

My husband bought this product to wear at work, he’s in the construction industry and these shoes I have helped him get through the day, as he is in need of knee replacement surgery.

These shoes replaced Merrill’s that I’ve been wearing for years. I wanted more cushioning and these have it. Fit is excellent. Break in was about 10 minutes. The only odd thing is the sides of the uppers are short which exposes the entire width of the tongue when laced and tied. The upper most lace hooks are too near the top of the upper and the tongue barely reaches that high.
Bigfoot 1 –
Out of the box, went to a 6 mile hike in snow and mud and they performed beyond my expectations. Traction is incredible and the GoreTex worked perfectly as expected.
Denverguy778 –
These are very comfortable with lots of cushion. The uppers are good quality leather. I had the previous version and Hoka has made some improvements in the heel and toe areas. The tongue runs a bit short on the upper sizes (13/14). It would be nice if it was 1/2″ longer so the laces won’t dig into unpadded ankles.

I love the boots. I just wish they came in a wide. They are comfortable but I have to be on my feet all day and being a diabetic they swell some and a wide option would help.
El S –
I use these boots for work and they feel more comfortable than my Hoka boni 8s. Worth every penny

I walk no less than 4 miles a day on these things and they are great. I have Achilles tendonitis and these boots aid in the support of that. Perfect for working on pavement, taking hikes on all types of terrain, and give me the support I need. I wear size 11, sizing of size 11 is perfect.

light weight and comfortable. The extended back makes it hard to lift your foot over obstacles.

Since Hoka has sold and changed the boot design, I have tried 4 different pairs and none of them fit due to the too narrow toe box. I am 5’3″, 105 lbs. and have never worn a wide shoe. In the old-style Kaha, I wore a women’s size 8, but moved up to a men’s Kaha 2 size 7, trying to find a wider toe box. They are still too narrow and have caused me severe foot pain. I’ve worn Hoka hiking boots for the past 10 or more years and never had problems until now. I have changed to a different brand to save my feet.

Great boots for hiking and very comfortable. Have had these now for over a year and they’re still going strong!

I got these for my son as he works outside a lot. He said they kept his feet warm and dry and we’re COMFORTABLE@
Scott –
I already own the HOKA Anacapa Mid GTX, that I love, but I bought this shoe as an upgrade. This shoe has better tread and the upper is more durable. Very comfortable, stable and 100% waterproof!

I have always had problems with my feet hurting after working on concrete all day. I’ve tried every brand and type out there that I could find. I even tried custom shoes recommended by my doctor but, only gained little comfort if any. These KAHA 2 GTX shoes by HOKA were recommended to me by a friend that has pretty much had the same issues that I suffered with. I couldn’t believe the difference that they made. I was not totally fatigued at the end of the day, and my feet were not hurting like they normally did after working 10-12 hours on them. These are a game changer. I highly recommend these shoes to everyone, especially if you are having foot or knee problems.

Excellent boots. Ordered a pair for my son!

I am a practicing Professional Land Surveyor in coastal and Down Eastern, North Carolina. These boots are helping to heal some longterm plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist recommends, as well.
Edgar –
This is a great product. Started wearing HOKAa year ago to quell the oain in my feet. Since, I have donated all my shoes to Goodwill because they were killing my feet. My podiatrist told me to go HOKA and there is none better. With winter coming on I decided to try HOKA boots. Super high quality. 1st class product. My feet love them. I walk 5 to 6 miles a day and I was worried I would gave to pull back, but with HOKA shoes I just keep trucking. If you haven’t gone beyond the sport shoes, give the hiking boots a try. The quality and fit will blow you away.

Unfortunately I have to return the shoe I bought for my son, they were to small. But I will look forward to exchanging them thank you
Tm –
These half boots are light and very comfortable. They have great support. Definitely would recommend.

Ordered my usual size but sent back because too small. Going to try a pair on at my local retailer.
