Hoka, you have outdone yourselves on these Hopara 2s!!!! Grippy soles capable of taking on all terrains? Check! Adjustable enough for these wide feet? Check! Good for wet or dry conditions alike? Check! Responded to customer reviews for the original Hopara? Check! Same phenomenally comfortable Hoka sole? Check! Netting to keep out the slugs and stones while keeping the feet cool and dry? Check! Thank you, Hoka One One…. these are a home run!

These are everything I’ve wanted in an outdoor shoe for a very long time. I have wide feet and foot issues caused by an old injury, and the Hoka sole is what works for me. These Hopara 2 shoes with the netting over the sandal will be a great improvement over my old Keen sandals, as I detest getting slugs in my sandals when walking through wet grass…. just sayin’. Anyway, I did find the feel of the shoes to be a bit funky in the first couple of wearings. I needed to loosen the laces and the straps and walk around for a bit before tightening things back up. That helped. There was still an odd feeling of a zero drop, which I didn’t find comfortable. The solution was to break the sole in a bit by bending them backward a couple of times. That made them much more flexible. These shoes will now be able to take me on long hikes across rugged terrain, and I won’t need to worry about getting caught in downpours. The comfort level of these shoes is OUTSTANDING, and even more supportive than the Bondi 6. I am hoping that Hoka makes a winter version of this shoe, because this adjustable fit is vastly superior to the Stinson ATV6 in every way. Simply put, I love these shoes.

Love the color and the cushioned ride! Allowing air in as they do will be great when touring Tuscany in the hot summer months this year!

I have owned at least 3 pairs of Hopara 1. Hoka improved the Hopara 2 heal strap by adding an extra and more secure and heavy cloth strap. The Hopara 1 heal stitching kept on breaking and it have to restitch with fishing line for added strength. The new Hopara 2 strap holds your foot more forward. I found that I had to increase the size from 10 to 11 to get the same comfortable fit.

Lightweight and fits great. Very comfortable and also looks great.

I’m not sure you can call it a sandal, but you might. I love the string adjustment and the flexible rear strap. BUT MOST OF ALL I like the fact that I can insert my Superfeet pad to provide arch support. Hopara already has good cushioning.

After almost a year of my orthopedist urging me to try a Hoka, I saved and splurged on these. Best decision ever!!!! LOVE them.
Micky D –
Great support for the arch? Check. Easy on and off? For sure. Sturdy but light enough for extended beach walks? You betcha. Quick dry so we can do it all again soon. That too! Thanks for Hoka for a perfect shoe!

I like the updates to the Hopara 2 from the original Hopara, especially the new material, the heel strap adjustments, and the speed laces. Tread looks like it’s just as burly and rugged as the original, so nothing new to add there.

After the purchase and wearing of one pair, they were so comfortable and light. I bought three more pair in different colors. They are perfect for every day walking and I love that you can get them wet and not worry about it. I walked 10 miles in a day and have had no issues. However, for me they run a little small. I have a size 13 foot I had to go to a size 14.

This shoe is the perfect combination of being comfortable, breezy, light weight & secure (courtesy smart engineering around the front of the foot and the back strap over the heal). My feet stay cool, but the shoe is secure for when I’m on the move. And they look really good. My only problem is I want to wear them everywhere. I wasn’t originally planning on working out in them, but they’ve replaced my work out shoes. I also wear them out casually and around the house to lounge in, so I hope they’re durable (and by all accounts thus, far it appears that they are). Already looking at other colors for additional pairs. One last thing, they’re stable. I don’t feel like the heel could roll even if I tried. GREAT shoe.

I wore these wet wading for trout last week and they were great! Good traction on a rocky stream bottom. Very comfortable. I also tried them with 3mm neoprene socks and never noticed gravel or sand in the shoe.
James –
Been wearing these all day every day for last 5 months, very comfortable. Airy and casual fit, yet very secure feeling on rocky/rooty trails. Grippy soles but surprisingly well wearing for Hokas (I’ve had a couple of pairs of Cliftons, nice but fragile on pavement). Hope they don’t change much in the next version.
Kirk –
Very comfortable and good for hiking/walking
Dee –
These shoe/sandles are extremely comfortable & supportive. I had Lisfranc surgery a year ago & Hokas are the only shoes I can wear
because of the structure &
support they offer. I don’t think
my foot would have
recovered to the point where
I’m able to walk 3-4 miles a
day.
Thank you Hoka, I finally got my life back!
El-Jefe –
I think I will get a couple pairs just in case they change the design. A little big so might want to 1/2 size down.
Dave –
The Hopara 2 is different from the 1 in that it is more versatile. With a pair of black jeans for example, they look more like a sneaker. The guy I bought these for is crazy about them.
Yw –
Never been so happy
Pedro –
Great all around shoe. the mesh construction keeps your feet from overheating and the tow box is wide enough for my EE shoe size. the arch support is better than any shoe I’ve tried. I will be purxchasing a fleet of Hokas.
Rick –
This is a really cool innovative sneaker. Sole is all one piece.. no removable sole. Great for walking on the beach or around town
3Hounds –
I had version one of these for around 3 years and loved them. They unfortunately but expectedly lost all cushion and grip. I just replaced them with these and love them perhaps even more Already took them on several 4 mile hikes. They didn’t rub at all and were lightweight and comfortable. I would highly recommend these for warmer weather hiking and walking.
Bruce –
I like everything about these shoes. The best feature is the mesh upper that is allows for keeping my feet as dry as possible in hot weather. The shoes look so much like shoes, like a casual “enclosed sandal’ that I wear them almost all of the time.
Darren –
Bought these for a trip to Hawaii. They were perfect for the big island. From the black sand beaches to the lava fields, in the Waipio rainforest or the top of Mauna Kea, absolutely perfect. I wore my Hopara 2’s exclusively on my trip. I wore hiking sandals last year, no contest – the closed toe, excellent traction and shoe feel are just superb.
Cap’t R –
Pleased Hoka does a good job of keeping its shoe sizes consistent. First pair that needed a bit of “Break in” time. Shoes look & work as advertised. Overall very pleased with the many Hoka products I have purchased.
Owner O –
I owned and enjoyed the original Hopara. Very comfortable. After a few years the back heel strap wore down to the point where it could break any day. So I ordered this next gen version and it’s as comfortable as I expected but with a few design improvements. Now the heel strap is reinforced plus it has adjustable velcro so it’s easier to remove or slip on to reduce wear and tear. And there’s a mesh wrapped around the outer layer which appears to help keep debris out of the shoe.
