I wanted something with more cushioning than the Zinal- and I wanted all black. These seemed promising, with good instep support, and more cushioning round the ankle and tongue than the Zinal, but unfortunately the shoe edge at the front of the ankle was hard and uncomfortable. Also, like some other Hokas it is just a tiny bit narrow in the toe box- and I have narrow feet.
I am usually a 9.5 but in Hoka I am a 9.

She purchased another pair of Hokas while I was waiting to give her these for Christmas. She loved them and she said that they fit perfectly. Thanks!

I work in these shoes.. They are awesome. I’m on my feet at a register for 8 to 14 hours a day .
Challenger 7 –
The inner sole is really thin. My feet hurt so bad when I get off work I can barely walk. I’m sending them back and I’m going to try a different pair of shoes.

Perfect for what I was looking for! Using for mixed weather road running and light trail running. They are responsive under foot and yet super cushiony. Have loved them for snowy/icy runs and trail runs thus far! Highly recommend.
Kathy –
Wonderful fit, super comfortable and supportive. Enough tread to go down the dirt, but doesn’t pick up gravel and toss it onto my legs.
Edie –
this shoe is the best makes you feel like your walking on air
FlaWalker –
Great fit, light and comfortable.

I ran a 5k Trail Run in these right out of the box and they were so comfortable and performed great for me. The right amount of cushion but very responsive on the trail. Trail was slippery in several spots since it had rained 2 days before the race but the traction of these shoes was great….no slipping. Also have a very stable feel with wide and supportive base. Absolutely love these shoes!

I am a nurse and work weekends doubles so I am on my feet 16 hrs two days in a row. I love the comfort and the fact they are very light weight. I don’t like the price because not everyone can afford the comfort of a good shoe.
Crystal –
Overall very comfortable but the craftsmanship is poor. The sole is beginibg to detach from the fabric and I’ve only had them for about a month so far. Very sad about this.

Hoka running shoes are great!

I bought these shoes because I am on my feet 9 hours a day and they are so comfortable. They’re roomy and true to size. I highly recommend!
Loke –
Perfect fit! Use it to walk 2-4 miles a day 5-7 days a week!! Comfortable!!

I really want HOKAs to work for me, but they don’t. I’ve tried four or five sizes/styles now (thanks to their awesome return policy) and am accepting defeat. I’m normally a women’s 9 but tend to size up for running shoes because my forefoot expands/swells as I run. I tried 9s, I tried sizing up, I tired men’s sizing, I tried women’s wide, men’s wide, I really tried! I love the cushioning! The traction! They look cool! But they’re too narrow in the forefoot/toe box.

I have 8 pairs of HOKAs, my orthopedic doctor told me abouy this because i have bad knees. I also have plantar fasciitis. The shoes are pricey but worth it! I recently had knee replacement surgery and walking around with my hoka I feel great. The one i just bought I love love the color and when I put them on wow wow just comfortable

I love the shoe – it feels great. Great cushion, and the upper is nice and flexible. I like the shape of the extended heel – it puts much less pressure on the achilles. BUT, it is frustrating that more of the colors aren’t available in wide!! It’s disappointing to see all the options, then see that I can’t actually get them. Please make more colors in wide. The inside fabric of the heels (like the speedgoat) tend to develop holes really quickly. Given the price, I think the soles might be wearing down more quickly than I would like, but that remains to be seen.

I had to write this review because someone reviewed and said they didn’t hold up and I couldn’t disagree more. I had hurt my Achilles prior to starting the Portuguese route to Santiago. I had to start later in baiona . So I had a pair of Altras, which were comfortable but due to my injury, the zero grade pulled on my Achilles. Luckily, I found a store that sold hokas.I purchased the only trail type they had, a half size bigger. They lifted my heal and gave me the spring I needed to walk with cushion over boulders and cobblestones. I wore them the next day no breaking in for my first leg of the walk, 20 miles. Unbelievably comfortable. I completed 128 km. With no blisters and soreness on bottom of feet. When it poured rain for 6 hours, my feet were completely wet but the shoes remained comfortable. These challengers are my Camino Miracle shoes.

Only had these a few months and they are already tearing. The first pair was returned due to stitching defect. These shoes cost too much to be showing tears akready. I only wear these once a week.

I have arthritis snd finding the right walking shoes has always been a problem. I tried on one my friend’s Hoka’s and loved the way they felt. I ordered some for me. Today I went on a 5 mile hike in my new Hoka’s and could not believe how comfortable they were!!! I’m soldHoka’s FOREVER for me from now on!!!! Thank you!!!!!

This is my 4th pair – I’m a nurse and work 6 jobs -19 hours a day with these (with orthotics and plantar fasciitis) no pain ! Love them soooo much !!!!

Toe box was narrower than other Hoka shoes I have purchased. Will return and buy the Bondis.
Anonymous –
Much lighter than the bondi’s I usually wear. No arch support and flimsy fabric making it wrinkle over the toes. Your foot wants to slide around in the shoe while walking. Can’t imagine being able to run in these.
Shell –
I am 66 and I have always worn run of the mill footwear. These shoes are a dream for my old feet. I stand almost twelve hrs a day, 4 days a week.
My feet are so very happy!!!’
Thank you and I just purchased another pair.
My co workers are impressed with my new shoes!!!
Yas –
I must say this is one of the best pair of shoes I have owned. I mostly wear them to work. i am in healthcare and on my feet all day running around. These shoes are more than I knew I needed. I move so swiftly in these. Wear and tear minimal. Stability great. Comfort there. Structure makes sense. I can’t get enough of them. I have been wearing the same shoes for almost 2 years and quality is still good. I even accidentally ordered a longer size on accident and with the extra room it did not ruin the quality. I kept the size bc it was a 9W instead of an 8.5W. So not significantly longer. I ordered a 8.5W and they fit perfectly and I can’t wait to wear them at work
