As a day hiker in southern Arizona these have met my needs and expectations so far. I do feel the construction is good with quality materials and I expect to have these for a while. People should know these are by design higher off the ground and may be problematic for someone prone to rolling ankles, the flip side of that is they are very well cushioned to protect your feet against more prominent rocky terrain while remaining responsive. The rocking motion of the shoe does feel propulsive when cruising at a consistent pace. I do feel that they took one hike to break in. I think my only small critic would be that I feel the toes are slightly under protected especially in my very rocky trail environment compared to my last day hiker shoe. But, overall I think these are good for someone who wants breathability with protection and deeper cushioning, which is part of the Hoka DNA. I’m very pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend

I just received these yesterday and am just going to wear them around the house for a week or so to evaluate them. Something these shoes have that I have never seen before is a v shaped piece of material on the upper heel that makes the shoe super easy to put on. Almost like a built in shoe horn. I am an older man and bending down to put shoes on can be difficult in the mornings, but not with these. My first impressions of this shoe is very positive. They fit well and have ample room in the toe box. One con so far is that I would like more cushion in the heel area. After wearing them in the house for a week or two I may edit this post and add more info.

I suffer from neuropathy so am unable to do much walking. The shoes provide stability. It is taking me awhile to get used to them but I think they will be fine.

I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase so far. They are very comfortable the true test will come when I’m on vacation and doing a lot of walking

I have the boots and love the shoes.

I actually am a women hoping the men’s size 8 would fit me. It was just a little awkward, but I do wish Hoka would make this color in a walking shoe. It’s a great shoe!
Jaybird –
I bought the low top version for golf as I like the extra grip from the Vibram sole. I was worried that the extra height of the soul with change where my club hit the ground but does not seem to be a problem. Very comfy.

Sizing continues to run small. I wear 14’s in most cases but a 15 in HOKA’s.

The bottom of the shoe keeps falling off

This style runs big and doesnt have the support that other styles have. Also the fabric inb the tow area compresses making a wrinkle on the right show only. Thought I would try something besides the Speedgoat…Didnt work.

Going to Northern Spain for vacation. Need something that will work well for lots of walking with and without weight on my back. These seem like they will fit the bill perfectly. Breaking them in now and they feel great. They do seem to be a little longer that my other Hokas (Bondi 8.5) with more room in front of the toe but not overly so or anything problematic.

2 pairs , left shoe started to squeak with every step, first issue ever with a HOKA shoe

I have and loved seven pairs of hooks. purchased another pair, left shoe squeaked with every step. exchanged for another pair, same thing, left shoe squeaked. tried to exchange for a different style, never received third pair, got a refund instead. guess they don’t want my business!

Have done some long hikes with them. I added a carbon fiber insert which I think is an improvement for uneven ground

I got the Hoka Anacapa Breeze Low shoes for hiking and love them — they are the best hiking shoes I’ve owned. They have a fantastic sole that is very grippy — on gravel, rocks, damp grass and mud. On inclines, they do not slip at all, which gives me a lot of confidence with my ascents and descents. The shoes themselves are very comfortable and well-cushioned — I can readily do 6-8 hour hikes in them without chafing or discomfort. They are quite breathable, but one should note that that they are NOT waterproof, so one needs to be careful not to step in puddles of water or they will get wet (there is a GTX version if one will be stepping in water). My only negative is that the shoes are slightly snug for me, so one should try both the regular and wide versions and then make the choice.

Originally bought these for walking and hiking, now these are my go too shoes for everything. Recently helped out on a construction site, feet were comfy all day wether working on concrete, gravel, tinned and shingled roofs where good grip is essential.

Best support I have found for rough country hiking! Amazing fit support and comfort, I hope the last a long time

Was traveling to Cape Town and Krueger National Park in South Africa , luggage weight was a concern so I needed a lightweight shoe I could wear around town as well as on hikes . These worked out perfectly

Bought them for my hubby and he absolutly loves them. He finds them lightweighted, rubbery that when he walks he feels that he wont slip. They are cushioned as well.

After 4 months of occasional wear, the bottom tread is coming off. I expected more from my first pair off
Hoka.
Very disappointed. Would not recommend

Great fit and good sole for hiking

Have switched over to this shoe from the Salomon Ultra 4 (the new style of the Salmon is so rigid and uncomfortable). This shoe has been put through several multi day backpacking trips and my feet rarely if ever felt uncomfortable. The traction and shock absorbency are solid. This shoe is especially comfortable for those of us who suffer from ailments like Achilles Bursitis.
Peeb –
I have flat feet and if I do t get good support, I get bad plantar fasciitis. This is a good show to help me with that. I purchased the same size as my old ASICS. Fit just the same.
Nick –
My Anacapa Breeze Low are great right out of the box. I expect minimal “break-in” time. The laces are a bit thin, but I trust they will be fine.
Geno –
Nice shoe. Have only had them about a week but so-far really nice. Fit is excellent and I have lousy feet. I over pronate and it appears to have enough support. I am about 6 ‘ and weigh about 175. Feel like wearing a sneaker.
